Geographical Extension: Pacific coast of Costa Rica to Panama
Habitat: This arrowfrog is a typical inhabitant of the ground layer of the lowland rainforests
Size: female up to 30 mm, male a little bit smaller
Life Expectancy: circa 5 years
Reproduction: A clutch consist of 8-15 even up to 25 eggs which are layed in horns of bromeliads- After 15-20 days the male carries the burbot to a larger water.
Temperature: 20-28°C, heat can be generated by using a "Sorry Link missing" like Thermo Mat PRO and the use of [link:Thermo Conrol Pro) is advisable.
Humidity: 80-100% The use of special technology is recommended like Super Rain or Super Fog, which can be controlled with Humidity Control or PRO Timer.
Lighting: As basic lighting are Daylight Fluorescent Tubes enough. Breeders have made good experience with UV tubes and metal halid lamps like Bright Sun UV Jungle.
Substrate: Absorbent substrate like Jungle Bedding in combination with Lucky Reptile Hydro Drain and Hydro Fleece.
Cage Furniture: Roomy HerpTarrium with many hiding posibilites and "Sorry Link missing". Additional Backgrounds and side walls can be used. Especially Xaxim is an exellent solution. Planting is possibel e.g, Ficus benjamina, F. pumila or Bromeliads. A flat Water Dishes should not be missing.
Terrarium Size (for long term care): at least 40x40 cm, high is not so important, because this animal lives primarily on the ground.
food: insects e.g. drosophila, small/micro crickets, springtails. Regulary Vitamines and Mineral should be given.
Comment: Nice species for beginners.
