Cites status: not protected
Geographical Extension: Can be found in the entire region of North Africa. Furthermore, in the middle east to the south-east of Turkey via Jordan and the Arabian Peninsula to Iran.
Habitat: Deserts and semi deserts, prefere solid ground and avoid soft and sandy soil.
Size: total length 16-23 cm
Life Expectancy: 2-4 years
Reproduction: Lay several times a year 2-7 eggs. Incubation period at 24-26 °C for about 89-100 days
