Geographical Extension: Utah, Colorado to southwestern Illinois, Arkansas to Arizona, Texas and northern Mexico
Habitat: hardwood forests, dry and rocky areas, diurnal
Size: up to 35 cm
Life Expectancy: over 6 years
Reproduction: lays up to 10 eggs. Several clutches per year are possible. Incubation period of 45-60 days at 28-32°C. More females will hatch at higher temperatures.
Temperature: Air temperature at 30-38°C, local heat spots up to 45-50°C. Night setback to room temperature.
Humidity: 30-50%
Lighting: Daylight fluorescent tubes, if necessary UV tubes (see "Sorry Link missing"). For sufficient UV radiation we recommend "Sorry Link missing" or "Sorry Link missing".
