Geographical Extension: Madagascar, fimbriatus has the greatest range of all uroplatus subspecies (whole Eastcoast from North to South including Nosy Bé, Nosy Mangabe and Nosy Boraha)
Habitat: tropical rainforests, nocturnal
Size: over 33 cm
Life Expectancy: over 7 years
Reproduction: mostly 2 hard-shelled, up to 5 clutches per year. Incubation period at 26-28°C between 80 and 125 days.
Temperature: air temperature 22-26°C, local heat spots up to 28-30°C. Night setback to 20°C if possible.
Humidity: 70-100%
Lighting: Daylight fluorescent tubes, if necessary UV tubes (see "Sorry Link missing"). For sufficient UV radiation we recommend "Sorry Link missing" or "Sorry Link missing".
Substrate: loose, absorptive substrate (see "Sorry Link missing").
Cage Furniture: amongst others vertical climbing facilities (in varying strenghts), additionally it is recommended to encase rear and side panels in cork. Planting is possible (Ficus benjamina, F. pumila, Scindapsus etc.). Various hiding places (branch-excavates, bamboo) and a water bowl - possibly with water fall or similar round off the terrarium configuration.
Terrarium Size (for long term care): for a pair: 80 x 80 x 150 cm (LxBxH)
food: Insects (e.g. cricktets, house crickets, grasshoppers, cockroaches, flies, wax moths, housing snails, freshly born mice etc.) also products from the "Sorry Link missing". Regular additions of "Sorry Link missing" and "Sorry Link missing" are necessary.
Comment: hiding places have to be controllable at all times.
