Geographical Extension: North und South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois und Indiana.
Habitat: Very bound to the water. Often also found in vegetation while having a sunbath. If they are disturbed, they let them self drop into the water.

Reproduction: The mating season starts in the south already in january or feburary. After 3-4 months the babies are born. One kindle can consist of up to 60 babies.

food: Their principal food is fish. In nature they also eat frogs, newts and salamandar. Sometimes even mice and birds. Only fresh-water fish should be fed. If the fish was frozen Vitamines should be added.
Comment: The animals react aggressiv when they are disturbed.
